Switching
From LobbyGuard.
Most LobbyGuard desks are built around a kiosk. EduQueue runs in a browser on the computer the receptionist already has, so the move is mostly about data and habit, not hardware.
- Get your export first.
Ask for the visitor and visit history as CSV. You want names, phone numbers, the visitor type and the last visit date. The historical visits themselves rarely need to come across. - Keep the printer, retire the kiosk.
Label printers that print a badge today print the same badge from EduQueue. The kiosk touch screen is not needed: check-in is done by the receptionist, or by the visitor on the desk's second screen if you have one. - Rebuild your screening policy in writing.
The registry check runs on every check-in on every plan. Decide who is alerted on a match and what the desk does, then set exactly that. - Load the visitors.
Import the CSV. Regular visitors — parents, contractors, delivery drivers — then check in by name in two keystrokes. - Run the parallel week.
One desk, both systems, five days. EduQueue is the record, LobbyGuard is the safety net. Compare Today's Check-ins with the door count each evening. - Cut over on a Monday, one building at a time.
If you have several buildings the free plan covers the first; the per-building plan adds the rest under one visitor list.
For a side-by-side of the two products, see lobbyguard-alternatives.com, which we also publish and which cites its sources. This page is only about the move.
